Everybody knows
Everybody knows
You have to step up to be free
But that doesn't mean
You get to
Step on me

In between
In between the houses
The flickering glow
Eliminates the hopes
Small children know
In between the streets
Pathways lead
Weeds overgrow
Some people bleed
In between what people
Know all about
And the real thing
Youth hangs out
In between marriages
And broken homes
Single parents still
Go it alone
In between the living
Dying remains
The one true constant
The last refrain

N….again
I saw bread up on a fence
Put there for the doves
I saw sparrows landing
By a willow tree
I took some time out
To see the love
I took some time out
To think about you and me
I felt the breeze
And the evening air cool down
I cast my gaze upon
Some red red flowers
I rode around on my bike
On the North side of town
I sat on top of a hill
At near sundown's hour
I saw the grackles gather
By the life substaining water
I marked again my amazement
At the green of trees
I took some time out to let it
All slow down
I witnessed the sky simply exist
Magnificently
